Horseman Variant Cover Process | Rippaverse Comics

This project showcases the complete creation process behind my Horseman variant cover for Rippaverse Comics—the very first cover I had the opportunity to create for the publisher.

From the initial composition sketches to the final inked artwork, the focus was to create a cover that immediately communicates the scale, personality, and heroic presence of the characters while maintaining a strong, readable composition from a distance.

Every stage of the process is included in this post:

• Composition thumbnails
• Layout development
• Character posing and anatomy
• Perspective refinement
• Final pencils
• Finished inks

Designing comic book covers is about much more than creating a beautiful illustration. A successful cover has to tell a story, establish visual hierarchy, and make readers stop scrolling—or stop walking—long enough to pick up the book.

Working with Rippaverse Comics has been an incredible experience, and this cover marked the beginning of that collaboration.

Client: Rippaverse Comics
Title: Horseman
Role: Cover Artist (Layouts, Pencils & Inks)

A great comic cover doesn't simply introduce a character—it creates the curiosity that makes someone want to open the book.
